For the best part of twenty one years we tended to structure our shows to be two set shows which rarely required the need for a support. With our switch to a single set (typically around 95-100 minutes in length) we are building a network of supports with whom we enjoy working. We present our support friends...
Billy made his debut Smyths show at Birmingham's O2 Academy 2 in December 2022. Since then he has become our defacto support for all of our Academy shows and several other of larger City shows. His popularity has rightly earned plaudits and Billy will soon be joining us on our International schedule. You can learn more about Billy here.
Next show with us: August 31st Margate Dreamland.
Many of you will already know Jon Hunt as our bass player for some of the shows we play across the country. Like each of us in The Smyths, Jon is an original musical artist in his own right.
Jon is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from London. Though his music is often described as 'quintessentially English', it's eclectic in style ranging from alternative rock and power-pop to ballads, progressive rock and psychedelia. Melodies that stick in your head, and lyrics that regularly explore that thing known as 'the human condition'.

Just 17 with a talent beyond her tender years, Ruby Jean is the spirit of our new generation of fans with a preference for the more melancholic side of The Smiths. Her sets combine a mixture of supremely curated covers and her very own songs which reveal a songwriting talent to match her playing. With an infectious enthusiasm and natural comfort on stage, we're delighted to provide Ruby Jean with a platform to showcase her talent. https://www.instagram.com/rubyjeancl/

Northumberland Singer Songwriter is the hardest working man in music. If you think we play a lot of shows, it's easier to count the days in a year when Pete isn't somewhere on a stage, guitar in hand gifting the listener with his wonderful songs. A stalwart of our shows in the North, Pete's enormous talent is matched by his warmth and humour. https://www.facebook.com/petebellmusic/
Next show with us: July 19th The Firestation, Sunderland.
The Chasers are a 5-piece Bluegrass Americana inspired acoustic act reimagining popular music from the 50's to present day. The band grew out of folk sessions in Camden and the surrounding areas in London. Members of the band are the backing group for the legendary mandolin player Whisky Mick (Shane MacGowan/Whisky Before Breakfast).
Next show with us: Friday July 26th, Factory Live, Worthing.
Ellis Thomas is a singer-songwriter from Porthcawl. An unassuming character whose light acoustic folk music, deep emotional ingratiation and friendly presence on stage welcomes you in with a hug. Navigating themes of life, death and mental health, Ellis’ live shows are geared toward a calm catharsis. To date, Ellis has self-released 4 singles, the most recent being ‘Lucy’, released through Phwoar & Peace earlier this year. https://www.facebook.com/EllisThomasMusic

Regularly championed by BBC 6 Music and 'famed' for withering critique, The Humdrum Express breezily delivers offbeat observation, social commentary and sharp wit; fused with familiar cultural references, surreal characters and subtle puns.
Solo gigs mix fast-paced, wordy acoustic folk with perspicacious poems and irreverent chat.
Full band shows are an eclectic blend of exhilarating indie clatter and joyful, sardonic cheer.
